The Provincial Council will collaborate in the implementation of an exhibition that aims to give visibility to a star product from the estuaries

The Provincial Council of Pontevedra and the Regulatory Council of the Protected Origin Denomination of Mexillón de Galicia have renewed their collaboration agreement, by virtue of which the provincial body will allocate 23,000 euros to the renovation of the technological infrastructure of the Mexillón de Galicia headquarters. Carmela Silva pointed out at a press conference that “the regulatory council will be able, with the support of the institution, to modernize its facilities where, in addition, the first permanent exhibition in Galicia will be located, which will deepen the importance of this product for the province and the community.” “We are committed to modernizing the visible face of our sector,” said Silva.

With provincial collaboration, an exhibition will be created at the Avenida da Mariña headquarters to “reinforce the image of the province as a quality cultural destination, since this is a territory with an undeniable link at a historical, social and economic level with the products of the rafts”. The sample will be articulated through a collection of laminated and vinyl digital prints, “which will include photographs and explanatory texts about the value of the mussel, and where the companies and products certified by DOP will appear represented.” This exhibition will also be “the first specific exhibition on the mussel in all of Galicia, in which the autochthonous form of cultivation will be explained, as well as its economic, social, cultural, landscape, gastronomic and nutritional value: a natural route from all to his chain of value”.

On the other hand, and with regard to the renewal of the technological infrastructure of the council, it will be able to adapt to the demands of the sector and to cutting-edge technologies “with updating both the electrical installation and technical assistance”. In addition, “it will be able to install all the infrastructure and means necessary for the configuration of two storage spaces, installation and configuration of the backup system, two devices with Wi-Fi networks, or the installation of switches and light curtains.” In this way, says the Diputación, an “architecture with more secure equipment and platforms that minimize the possibility of cyberattacks or failures” is guaranteed.
